About protective shoes

A work shoe should not only be well suited to its task and provide good protection against injury. High comfort, good anatomical properties and good ventilation are just as important factors. All protective shoes in Ejendals? selection comply with current EN standards and current standards for protective work wear within various professional fields.

Selecting the right protective shoe

Protective shoes are mandatory for certain jobs, e.g. transporting and forestry work.  Even for work that does not require their use, there may be cause to use protective shoes.

Protective category

The selection of the correct protective shoe is always based on the task:

  • Shoes marked with S have toe caps that can withstand 200 J impact force and 15 kN pressure.
  • Shoes marked with O lack toe caps but comply with the basic requirements on protective shoes.

Class of protection

Protective shoes are also divided into classes, where:

  • Class I indicates that the shoe is made of either leather or textile.
  • Class II indicates that the shoe is made of either rubber or polymer.

Apart from these requirements there are a number of established requirements, e.g. nail protection, cold isolation, water resistance and heat resistance.

The table below gives an overview of protective categories as well as classes of protection. Please contact Ejendals Customer Service should you have any questions regarding your choice of shoe.
