Certification equals more efficient customs handling
With quality-assured and certified
customs procedures, Ejendals
has achieved smoother and
more efficient export handling.
“This means more straightforward
border crossings with
improved organisation and greater
clarity in our product item register,
making stock-taking easier,” says
Mats Aspemo, administrative
manager.
The Swedish Customs and Excise Department’s
quality assurance system, Servicetrappan,
is based on preventative work and
partnership with Ejendals. By ensuring the
information that has to be submitted is
correct from the outset, the company is able
to achieve quick and straightforward border
crossings. But also reduced administration
for customs duty issues thanks to the advantages
and simplified procedures offered by
Swedish Customs with certification, leading
to long-term advantages for our customers.
“Another positive consequence is that we
have a better grip on our customs arrangements
and that they are dealt with correctly
right from the start. Plus we are meeting
Customs and Excise’s tough ethical and
moral requirements,” says Mats Aspemo.
Always back-up
Since certification, another couple of staff
members have received training so that
there is always back-up available to deal
with customs issues.
“There was a degree of anxiety to begin
with about what this would mean for the
organisation, that it might be difficult with
quality-assured storage. However, that turned
out not to be the case, only different and easier
on the whole. Without doubt, certification
has been a successful investment. Ejendals
has been listed for the following customs
procedures: import, export and bonded
warehouse type E (quality-assured storage).
