EU Ecolabel – offizielle europäische Zertifizierung für umweltfreundliche Produkte
Das 1992 eingeführte EU Ecolabel soll die Entwicklung und Verwendung von Waren und Dienstleistungen fördern, bei denen die Erhaltung der Umwelt im Vordergrund steht.
Die mit dem EU Ecolabel gekennzeichneten Produkte gehören zu den umweltfreundlichsten Produkten in ihrer jeweiligen Kategorie. Die Zertifizierung erfolgt durch eine unabhängige Organisation auf der Grundlage ökologischer Kriterien, die alle Phasen des Lebenszyklus eines Produkts umfassen. Diese Kriterien werden von einem Multi-Stakeholder-Gremium festgelegt und von der Europäischen Kommission offiziell unterstützt.
