Avez-vous besoin d’une classification de sécurité S3 ou S1P ?

Avez-vous besoin de chaussures de travail avec la classification de sécurité S3 ? Ou des chaussures de sécurité avec l’indice de sécurité S1P répondront-elles mieux à vos besoins ?

Vous connaissez peut-être l’indice de sécurité appelé S1.

S1P possède les mêmes caractéristiques de sécurité que S1, à savoir :

  • Embout de protection
  • Résistance au glissement obligatoire
  • Partie arrière fermée (talon totalement protégé)
  • Résistance électrique 
  • Absorption d’énergie sous le talon

Protection anti-perforation
La protection anti-perforation signifie que la chaussure de sécurité est dotée d’une protection contre la pénétration de clous. Vous n’avez ainsi pas à craindre de marcher sur des clous et autres objets pointus.

But what does S3 have that S1P does not?

What really differs S3 from S1P is that the upper material has water protective properties:

WRU - Water repellent upper (EN ISO 20345:2012)
WPA - Water- penetration and absorption (EN ISO 20345:2022)
The standard for safety shoes EN ISO 20345: 2012 will be updated and will now instead be EN ISO 20345:2022.

If you do not need a water repellent upper part on your shoe, then you do not need a S3 safety shoe, and a S1P safety rated shoe will be enough.
One reason for not making all safety shoes with a water repellent upper part is due to ventilation. Many safety shoe models with S1P rating have small ventilation openings that helps keep your feet cool and comfortable.
