Een dag met Scanmast: Een telecomtoren bouwen in barre, Noordse omstandigheden
Toen we op een koude, natte dag in de late herfst op bezoek waren op de bouwlocatie van Scanmast in Torsång, kregen we te maken met klassiek Scandinavisch weer: regenachtig, modderig, guur en vochtig. Perfecte omstandigheden om onze PBM's op de proef te stellen - TEGERA PRO 9125-handschoenen en JALAS 9998/9998 GTX-veiligheidsschoenen.
Een telecomtoren van 48 meter bouwen in slechts 1,5 dag
In Torsång bouwde Scanmast een 48 meter hoge zogenaamde "koude toren". Dit is een telecommast zonder geïntegreerde elektronica. Ondanks het uitdagende weer werd de hele bouw in slechts anderhalve dag voltooid. We volgden de monteurs tijdens elke fase van het werk, en we zagen hoe expertise, veiligheidsprocedures en precisie samengaan op een echte bouwplaats.
Het bouwproces - stap voor stap
- Funderingswerk
Betonnen platen en sokkels worden ter plekke gegoten en vormen de stabiele basis die de toren ondersteunt. - Montage op grondniveau
De diverse delen van de toren worden horizontaal gemonteerd. Voor dit werk is zowel kracht als precisie nodig vanwege de zware onderdelen van koud staal. - De toren klaarmaken voor het hijsen
Kettingen en spanbanden worden bevestigd om de toren klaar te maken voor een veilige en stabiele hijsactie. - Dubbele kraanlift
Twee kranen brengen de toren in verticale positie. De monteurs begeleiden het proces vanaf de grond en staan voortdurend in verbinding met de kraanmachinisten voor een plaatsing op de millimeter nauwkeurig. - Definitieve installatie
Eenmaal geplaatst wordt de toren aan de sokkels vastgeschroefd. Een monteur beklimt vervolgens de toren voor het verwijderen van de hijskettingen, een laatste veiligheidsinspectie en het secundaire gietwerk.

- They follow a detailed construction manual, supported by Scanmast’s engineering department that calculates load, wind tolerance, and structural requirements.
- New technicians are trained by experienced colleagues and at Scanmast’s own training tower in Mora — including height-safety exercises.
