Biocirculaire Dyneema®-vezel
Ejendals was de eerste leverancier van persoonlijke beschermingsmiddelen (PBM) in Europa die snijbestendige handschoenen op de markt bracht die gemaakt zijn van biogebaseerde polyethyleenvezels met een ultrahoog moleculair gewicht (UHMWPE). Dit materiaal staat ook bekend als High Performance Polyethyleen (HPPE).

Hoge snijweerstand met ISCC-gecertificeerde, biocirculaire vezel
We ontwikkelden de eerste handschoen die een uitzonderlijke snijweerstand combineert met duurzaamheid. Hiervoor gebruiken we biocirculaire UHMWPE Dyneema®-vezels van Avient.
De productie van deze biologisch herleide vezels volgt de ISCC-gecertificeerde massabalansmethode, die zorgt voor traceerbaarheid en verantwoording van het hernieuwbare materiaal langs de controleketen. De hernieuwbare grondstof voor de productie van Dyneema® biocirculaire vezel is afkomstig uit afvalstromen van de pulp- en papierindustrie. Bij de productie van ethyleen worden er zowel hernieuwbare als fossiele grondstoffen gecombineerd. Het hernieuwbare aandeel wordt dan toegekend aan bepaalde producten. Alle productiestappen maken gebruik van de bestaande infrastructuur en processen. De overschakeling van conventionele naar biocirculaire Dyneema®-vezels heeft geen invloed op de productprestaties.
Dankzij de Diamond-technologie is de snijweerstand van Dyneema®-vezels meer dan verdubbeld in vergelijking met conventionele HPPE-vezels. Dit unieke polymeer biedt ultradun en snijbestendig materiaal, een hoge sterkte, een hoge slijtvastheid, superieure vingertopgevoeligheid en cool touch-comfort.
Voordelen voor het milieu:
- Door over te schakelen op biocirculaire Dyneema®-vezels kan de CO2-voetafdruk van de handschoenproductie tot 90% worden verminderd in vergelijking met conventionele Dyneema®-vezels op fossiele basis.
- Elk paar handschoenen dat met deze vezels is gemaakt, bespaart ongeveer 0,45 kg CO2 eq.
- Deze biocirculaire Dyneema®-vezel is gecertificeerd door de International Sustainability & Carbon Certification (ISCC) en draagt bij aan duurzaamheidsinitiatieven zonder dat dit ten koste gaat van veiligheid en comfort.
