Waarom zijn koude handen problematisch?
Als je vingers te koud worden, kan het weefsel beschadigd raken doordat er zich ijskristallen vormen in de cellen. Dit kan leiden tot een slechtere doorbloeding, en in ernstige gevallen het afsterven van weefsel en infecties in de beschadigde huid.
Langetermijneffecten kunnen zijn: chronische pijn, tintelingen, gevoelloosheid, verhoogde gevoeligheid voor kou en het Raynaud-fenomeen. Dit is een overmatige vernauwing van de bloedvaten in koude omstandigheden, waardoor je vingers wit, pijnlijk en stijf worden. In zeer ernstige gevallen kan dit leiden tot permanente schade of zelfs tot amputatie.

How Calothan™ Insulates Against Contact Cold
