OEKO-TEX®
OEKO-TEX® is een wereldwijde certificering voor textielproducten die de veiligheid ten aanzien van gevaarlijke stoffen aangeeft. Deze producten zijn getest en gecertificeerd voor meer dan 1000 verschillende stoffen waarvan bekend is dat deze schadelijk zijn voor de gezondheid. De tests worden uitgevoerd door een erkend onderzoeks- en testinstituut dat is goedgekeurd door de OEKO-TEX® Association.
OEKO-TEX® Standard 100
OEKO-TEX® is een wereldwijde certificering voor textielproducten die de veiligheid ten aanzien van gevaarlijke stoffen aangeeft. Textielproducten kunnen in alle productiestadia gecertificeerd worden, inclusief garens, stoffen, knopen, ritsen en voltooide kledingstukken. Deze producten worden getest op meer dan 1000 verschillende stoffen waarvan bekend is dat ze schadelijk zijn voor de gezondheid. De normen worden jaarlijks aangepast om nieuwe stoffen, die gekwalificeerd zijn als schadelijk, te kunnen opnemen. Hierbij kan het gaan om door de wet toegestane of om illegale stoffen, of zelfs om stoffen waarvoor nog geen wettelijke regelgeving geldt. Ook andere factoren die van invloed kunnen zijn op de gezondheid worden getest, zoals de pH-waarde en de kleurechtheid van het textiel.
De producten moeten worden getest en gecertificeerd door een erkend onderzoeks- en testinstituut dat is goedgekeurd door de OEKO-TEX® Association. De certificeringen moeten jaarlijks worden vernieuwd, en OEKO-TEX® controleert de gecertificeerde bedrijven. Daarnaast worden gecertificeerde producten op de markt steekproefsgewijs gecontroleerd.
Het primaire doel van de OEKO-TEX certificering is het garanderen van productveiligheid voor de mens. Het is echter belangrijk om te vermelden dat veel chemicaliën die voor de mens schadelijk zijn, ook een negatieve invloed op het milieu hebben. Als gevolg daarvan draagt de certificering indirect ook bij aan de bescherming van het milieu.
Gezien het feit dat onze huid nauw en langdurig in contact komt met handschoenen en sokken, verheugt het ons om TEGERA-handschoenen en JALAS-sokken met een OEKO-TEX® certificering te kunnen aanbieden.
