Därför föredrar målare vita handskar och skor
Svaret finns i historieböckerna. Vitt blev standard på 1800-talet. Många färgnyanser som vi är vana vid idag fanns inte då. Vitt var praktiskt taget den enda färg som var tillgänglig för målning av fasader och interiör på den tiden.
Tanken med vita handskar, skor och kläder var att spill inte skulle synas. Då såg målaren professionell ut och visade en förmåga att kunna utföra jobbet utan att spilla. På mörka kläder skulle alla vita stänk synas. Dessutom är de flesta andra material som en målare använder i jobbet vita: tätningsmedel, kitt, gips med mera.
